New Day Care Centre and Commercial Buildings Planned for Kurttila

Kurttila is undergoing a transformation with plans for a new, larger day care centre and commercial buildings. The new day care centre will be located on two currently unbuilt plots along Kurttilantie, addressing the need for more childcare facilities in the area. Additionally, commercial buildings are being planned along Kauklahdenväylä and on the school plot of the old Kungsgårdsskolan school, a protected historic building. The detailed plan amendment, which aims to find new uses for the school building and explore additional residential construction, will be open for public review from 24 August to 22 September 2026. A walking tour of the planning area is scheduled for 8 September 2026, starting from the courtyard of the old Kungsgårdsskolan school.
