Espoo is set to offer 53 new plots for detached houses, with applications opening from October 1 to November 2. Of these, 34 plots are in Perusmäki, primarily in the Gobbacka area, known for its nature-friendly environment. Other available plots are in Espoonkartano, Vanttila, Kurttila, Kalajärvi, Henttaa, Latokaski, Laaksolahti, and Viherlaakso.
Applicants can choose to lease or buy the plots, which range from 687 to 1,184 square meters with a building volume of 130–353 square meters. This year, Espoo has updated the application process to include a credit check, disqualifying applicants with payment defaults. A processing fee of EUR 2,000 is required if a plot is allocated.
The changes aim to streamline the process, requiring applicants to rank plots by preference during the application phase. Priority will be given to Espoo residents, and those who have received undeveloped plots from the city in the last five rounds are ineligible. More details are available on the City of Espoo's website.
